OUR GOAL
Every Bit Helps
In this trying time, many people are in need of dire help. As a student society, we plan to help those by contributing most of the proceeds back to society through the Kita Jaga Kita movement and the White Flag campaign. At the same time, in the midst of this pandemic, it is also a great time to support some local artists who generously want to help those in need by creating art.
50%
Community Contribution
50% of the proceeds from this auction will be going to the organisations that are a part of the White Flag campaign - carefully looking into those who are in dire need of help.
40%
Back to the Artists
All artists have generously accepted that they will only be getting 40% of the proceeds.
10%
Society Contribution
City University's Malaysian Society will be taking 10% of the proceeds to help ease funding for our future events.

Afi Sulaiman
Afi Sulaiman is an artist, born and raised in Malaysia with a past art education heavily based on a decade of art classes, influenced by the Malaysian school system. She began exploring art by researching artists she admired and took them as influences alongside her own experimentation in collages, both paper and digital, as well as mixed media.
Her first stepping stone in the creative industry began when she was shortlisted to participate in the fourth cohort of the 'Young Art Entrepreneurs!' programme held by the National Art Gallery of Malaysia in 2019.
She explores everything related to Malaysian food culture in the form of illustrations and stories, including children’s books, art prints, and many more.

Cassie Wong
Cassielelolea is a self-taught artist who began her artistic journey from body movements as a ballet dancer. A Mass Communication graduate major in Advertising, her love for visual arts and design was fostered over the years from multiple roles throughout her career involving graphics and product designs to handmade wearable pieces. A six-months working holiday in New Zealand has broadened her perspective in executing work of arts in various ways.
In 2016, she started juggling between a full-time job and her role as a mural artist and freelance painter, until she decided to quit her job and focus on her painting in early 2020.
Cassielelolea’s work of art exhibits a certain dreaminess melded with an ethereal reality. Her favourite subject makers are human beings and animals. She finds them vibrantly alive and their diverse expressions fuel her passion and inspire her to paint from her soul.
Art continually evolves with her moods, her experiences and it is a learning curve which she meanders through everyday.
Cassie has exhibited her works in numerous group exhibitions in Malaysia and has been awarded “Most Imaginative Artwork” at the Art Salon 2018.

Jessica
She sketches during her free time, particularly old buildings and breathing life into them with the help of watercolours. She is also an avid iPad portrait artist. She enjoys this type of art because she believes that it is not merely about painting the person but also about trying to bring out the emotion or character.
Prior the lockdown (and hopefully after lockdown), you can find her exercising at VivaVertical Studio, sometimes climbing at Camp5, trying to surf at Flowrider and even a girls outing at a local kopitiam or being anti-social at a random cafe sketching away on my iPad.
Feel free to visit her instagram account @mousukoshy if you want to see what art pieces she's working on (or struggling!) at the moment in her life.

Lusy Koror
Teacher // Artist // Writer // Art Facilitator.
She focuses on play as the experience of art is more important to her than the aesthetics. As a British teacher and practicing artist in Malaysia, she loves to work with the community to help them reach their artistic potential. Koror also looks at everyday inspiration from around her, things that may not seem remarkable to most but are spectacular to her. Then in the realm of the everyday, she plays with her materials like a child, and knows that no artwork is ever really finished, it is just abandoned (Picasso).

Nazurah Asaraf
Nazurah is a self-taught artist from Malaysia. She explores multiple mediums such as watercolour, acrylic, and oils.
Her most recent art journey has been diving into the beautiful world of oceans and clouds. During this lockdown, she ended up longing and appreciating the tiny details in nature and was inspired to translate the unique textures and colours onto paper. In the current environment where feelings of uncertainty can be so overwhelming, she managed to find my (albeit temporary) escape.
She hopes you enjoy her paintings as much as she enjoyed creating them, and perhaps would like a piece of tranquility for your homes.
You may find more of her artworks on her Instagram Page! @ofnazurah.art

Sanna
Sanna was born in Kashmir, but her heart is Malaysian, having lived here for 20 plus years. The merging of the two cultures and the beauty of both homelands is the inspiration behind each art piece she creates. Her artwork has an inclination towards natural beauty influenced by pieces of culture from both countries, which always left a deep impact on her since childhood. landscapes, tokens of home, and heritage icons weave into the art she creates to resonate the message of multiculturalism. Her artwork tells the story of the alluring charm we can find in our own homes, culture, and tradition, with a contemporary spin.
As an artist, Sanna is keen to experiment with various mediums, oftentimes mixing different materials to bring out the story she is weaving. She uses vibrant colours to bring out the dynamic feeling of the world through her lens, and is not afraid to use unconventional colour combinations. She continuously is exploring and experimenting on amalgamating different stylistic choices she has been studying throughout her artistic journey. The vibrant bold strokes of Vincent Van Gogh was her first artistic love and continues to inspire her. Locally, Anuar Dan and Fauzin Mustafa have been her muses in the art she aspires to create, with their deep reflection of the charm in Malaysian traditions and life. She has previously studied under Anuar Dan in a series of workshops, learning from a Malaysian master on how to create art which celebrates almost forgotten heritage icons. This journey resonates with the journey of her life, merging the two heritages of Malaysia and Kashmir into artistic vision.

Raisa Albar
My name is Raisa and I paint places of familiarity and nostalgia as flat landscapes. Not every place may be familiar to every person, but without a doubt, there's always a familiar feeling associated with the things we see, feel and experience and the places we go. Landscapes, locations, the sea, the sky or even our usual routes home - sceneries that are ingrained in our minds.
I first started when I had an urge to materialise the image I had in my mind - the memory of a place that tugged on my heartstrings. I loved that I did. To me, it's not artwork, its heart work.

Nico Shah
Yo! I’m Nico Matshah and I’ve just completed my degree in BA Fine Art: Sculpture at the University of The Arts London and I like anime.
My work explores my sense of belonging in the man-made world of nations, cultures and language and in the universe at large. Recently, I have utilised multicultural references to create a
fictitious world of anthropomorphic cats. These works are semiotic and illustrative, and seek to explore identity, language play and mythology within Javanese, Japanese and Malaysian culture.
By engaging cats as a medium to act on my behalf, I am able to bypass political taboo and censorship. Who’s going to get mad at a cat? They’re just cats.
Ink drawings and digital prints are my principal materials. I design posters based on observations of cats in the world and dress them with known materials taken from Javanese, Japanese and Malaysian culture such as Batik, traditional Japanese tattoos, Keris and Katana swords. I also use
photography, short films and animation to visualise ideas.
My work reflects my personal experience of constantly bending and fitting to my environment, picking up culture and random topics as I travel through the world.
